As a result, total distance recorded on the display/Flow app will be less than actual distance covered when derestricted. The kit is completely undetectable – simply remove before getting your bike serviced. How to Avoid Error Codes To reduce the risk of errors: - Disable automatic updates in the eBike Flow App - Activate/deactivate the tuning before the ride (when the e-bike is standing still), not during riding Important: Firmware Updates Updating your eBike's motor firmware may block or disable your tuning kit. We recommend avoiding firmware updates – especially through service centres – unless absolutely necessary. Most updates are optional, and a working eBike doesn't usually need one. Please note: A blocked tuning kit due to a firmware update is not covered under warranty. Need Help? VOLspeed for Bosch CX Gen4/Gen5 + Rim Magnet

Access the instruction manual for this kit To install this kit you will need to remove the bike's motor. Specialist knowledge & tools will be required, if you lack expertise you should have the kit installed by a specialist. The module itself is mounted in a specific position on the motor, as a result there will be a few ebike models that simply do not have enough space inside. Depending on what motor your bike has, please watch one of these install videos before buying: Bosch Performance Line CX Gen4 Install Video Bosch Performance Line CX Gen5 Install Video Important: This tuning kit is only compatible with eBikes that have a Performance Line CX (Gen4/Gen5) motor & Rim Magnet. It will not work with spoke magnet models or bikes fitted with ABS. Once active, speed readings above the factory limit will not be accurate. As a result, a lower distance will be recorded by the bike's computer.

How to Set Your Speed Limit on VOLspeed Kits

How to Set Your Speed Limit on VOLspeed Kits VOLspeed kits allow you to set a custom maximum speed limit between 25 km/h and 45 km/h (approximately 15.5 mph to 28 mph). Here's how to adjust it. Before You Start Make sure: - Your chip is installed correctly - Your bike is turned ON - For Smart System bikes: Your phone is connected via Bluetooth to the eBike Flow app Setting Speed Limit on VOLspeed V2 (Bosch Smart System) Step 1: Open the Flow App Open the Bosch eBike Flow app on your phone and ensure it's connected to your bike. Step 2: Go to the Ride Screen Tap the Ride screen icon (the middle icon at the bottom of the app). This is important - the buttons won't work from other screens. Step 3: Activate the Chip Press the buttons on your bike's display in this sequence: - + - + (minus, plus, minus, plus) You should see 32 km/h appear on the display, indicating the chip is now active. Step 4: Adjust the Speed (Act Quickly!) Immediately after activation, before the display resets: - Press + to increase the speed limit - Press - to decrease the speed limit Each press changes the limit by 1 km/h. The maximum is 45 km/h (28 mph). Step 5: Confirm the Setting The speed setting is automatically saved. Next time you activate the chip, it will remember your chosen limit. Important: The chip deactivates when you turn off the bike. You'll need to re-activate it each ride using the - + - + sequence, but your speed setting will be remembered. Setting Speed Limit on VOLspeed V4 (Bosch Gen 3/4) Step 1: Turn On Your Bike Make sure your bike is powered on and the display is active. Step 2: Activate the Chip Press and hold the WALK button for approximately 3 seconds until you see the activation confirmation. Step 3: Adjust the Speed While the speed indicator is showing: - Use the + and - buttons to adjust your desired maximum speed - The setting is saved automatically Common Questions Q: Why does my chip turn off when I stop the bike? A: This is normal. The chip deactivates when the bike is turned off for safety reasons. Simply re-activate it when you start your next ride. Q: Can I set it higher than 45 km/h? A: No, 45 km/h (28 mph) is the maximum limit built into VOLspeed kits. Q: Why can't I change the speed when I press + or -? A: You need to act quickly after activation. The adjustment window is only open for a few seconds after you see the speed display. If you miss it, turn the bike off and on, then try the activation sequence again. Q: It changes my assist mode instead of the speed - what am I doing wrong? A: Make sure you're on the Ride screen in the Flow app, not the main screen. The buttons behave differently depending on which screen is active. Q: Is my speed setting saved? A: Yes! Once you set your preferred speed, it's saved in the chip. You only need to re-activate the chip each ride, not re-set the speed. Troubleshooting If the chip won't activate: - Check all connections are secure - Make sure your phone is connected via Bluetooth (Smart System only) - Try turning the bike off and on again If buttons aren't responding: - Press the button sequence more quickly - Ensure you're on the correct screen in the app - Check your display is responding to other inputs Need more help?
